Green 1: You should all know that smoking on or near the artificial greens is a big NO NO. NO Grippo is allowed on your bowls (it is allowed on your fingers). Smoking around Green 1 is only permitted in the area immediately in front of the Club rooms and behind the seats along both sides of the green. There is NO smoking allowed on the area between greens 1 and 2.
The last round of Interclub was played at the weekend. Our Men’s Premier Reserve S2 team; our 8’s Division 3 team is and the Quad. Our Women’s Premier team won 2 games, and our Premier Reserve Section 2 team had 1 win.
There was 1 qualifying round of Championship Pairs on and 3 rounds on Sunday (the Women reached Post Section by 3rd round).
A list is on the Noticeboard for those members wishing to play in the Tom & Marie Waters Memorial Day event on Saturday, 23 December, commencing at 12.00 pm (this event is open to all categories of membership). This day is also our Christmas Party and there will be a meal (BBQ or something) later in the afternoon.
If you aren’t doing anything Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve come down to the Club from late afternoon – bring some finger food and enjoy the evening.
- When you stop believing in Santa you get Underwear for Xmas;
- I think I’ll be the Santa this year. Every year I ask for many things and end up getting nothing on my list. So I will sneak out of my room and make my Christmas memorable enough for me too;
- Santa knows when I am sleeping, he knows when I’m awake, he knows if I’ve been good or bad – I find that rather creepy!
- It’s all fun and games until Santa checks the naughty list;
- Santa Claus has the right idea – visit people once a year.
What are you waiting for?
Petone Central Bowling Club came into being in June 2008 as a result of the merger between two former Clubs — the Petone Bowling Club and the Central Bowling Club. Both Clubs were well established in the Petone area with the Petone Bowling Club being inaugurated in 1897 and the Central Bowling Club in 1917.
