The Janet Lynch Trophy event was held on 22 February at the Naenae Bowling Club. We had Patricia, Jean, Sharon, Dawn, Chris, Marilyn, Bev and Shirley selected to play in it. Unfortunately the Wellington teams won the day.
Centre Triples – qualifiers – we had 2 women’s teams (Dawn Cooper’s and Patricia Wishnowsky’s teams) and 1 men’s team (Murray Yaxley’s). Unfortunately none of them proceeded past their first game.
Community League has now started. We have received 18 team entered and the competition is going well. Many thanks to Paddy & Marie and also to Murray looking after the BBQ. We would like some club members to assist in running the BBQ. Please let Murray, Marie or Paddy know if you can assist.

Green 2 is now undergoing maintenance work towards preparing it for the laser levelling.
Gibbons Trophy – Our teams were Bruce Hollow (Skip), Lorraine Hollow and Byron Iles; Doug Parker (Skip), Jim O’Brien and Glenda Grant. Reserve was Jill Johns. Both teams improved as the day went on. They were both in the third division and after both won their first game they had to play each other in the division final with the Bruce Hollow team winning 9 to 8 on the last bowl. The Club can be proud of both teams.
12th March is the date set for the return match with the Bob Scott home and away competition.
Trading Table – many thanks to both contributors and purchasers. However we could do with more contributions so if you are able to make some contributions to the goodies on sale it would be much appreciated.
The Rymans Over 60s Triples Gala was held at the Club on Monday, 12 February. The weather was good and we had 18 teams competing in it including several teams from other Clubs. Several visitors thanked the Club and said they would be back next year! Our thanks go to John and Sandra for their organisation of the day and to Marilyn for her sterling work in the kitchen. Also thanks to Kerry who prepared the lunch which was enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Rymans for sponsoring the event.

Petone Central Bowling Club came into being in June 2008 as a result of the merger between two former Clubs — the Petone Bowling Club and the Central Bowling Club. Both Clubs were well established in the Petone area with the Petone Bowling Club being inaugurated in 1897 and the Central Bowling Club in 1917.
